The San Antonio Tricentennial announced its second round of Community Partners at a local landmark and historic theater. The non-profit organizations announced aim to enrich San Antonio’s 300th anniversary experience through activities that reflect the city and county’s unique history and diversity.

“The Tricentennial is not only a celebration of our history, it’s a celebration of who we are today and what we will be in the future,” said Edward Benavides, CEO of the Tricentennial Commission. “The non-profit organizations selected as community partners contribute to our city’s legacy of giving and generosity.”

Robert Thrailkill, President and Co-chair of the Tricentennial Commission remarked on the diversity of the selected partners, “These non-profit organizations represent the best that our city has to offer; they foster San Antonio treasures such as our unique culture, art, technology, and education. These are the gems that embody and support our city’s legacy.”

The Tricentennial Commission is accepting applications to become a Community Partner until March 1, 2017. Potential community partners are evaluated on the organization’s alignment with the Tricentennial Guiding Principles:

Creates a positive and lasting impact
Showcases San Antonio’s diversity, inclusiveness, and authenticity
Defines the Tricentennial identity
Identifies financial integrity and visibility, timeliness, and transparency
Educates and celebrates our shared history, and furthers our legacy
The community is encouraged to apply online at to become a part of San Antonio’s 300th anniversary.
