The Tricentennial Commemorative Week is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to commemorate our rich history over the past 300 years, celebrate our bright future and create a lasting legacy for generations to come.
On Founders’ Day, May 3rd, there will be five concurrent events across our community that will be free and open to the public. The true highlight will be the Tricentennial Founders’ Day Gala, a commemorative event showcasing our multinational culture and history.
We are excited about making this a unified, community-wide celebration of our many diverse cultures. We hope you join us in celebrating our strong ties around the globe and strengthening these bonds, as we host several international delegations at the event, including dignitaries from Japan, South Korea, China, Spain, Germany, Namibia, the UK and Mexico, just to name a few.
This event will be like none other so you won’t want to miss it. We will celebrate our rich heritage through dance, music, spoken word and the culinary arts. And, by participating in this fundraiser, you will also be investing in one of our community’s crown jewels – our UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Receiving the designation as a World Heritage Site has the potential to be a tremendous economic boon to our community, as it is expected to draw visitors from around the globe. All proceeds from the gala will help fund a legacy gift that will help welcome and guide visitors to our five World Heritage Missions.
This gift will be a part of the interpretive signage and public art that will bring to life the rich history and culture, not just of the missions, but also of the many other treasures along the World Heritage Trail. Join us and play a key role in making the Tricentennial’s lasting gift to our community a reality.
