Headwaters at Incarnate Word together with a group of passionate artists have organized a month-long art installation celebrating the Blue Hole, sacred source spring of the San Antonio River. The exhibit and accompanying evens are art of a regional initiative, A Pilgrimage Connecting People to Art and Environment, Which invites the public to experience our South Central Texas springs through various artistic mediums. The Blue Hole is of particular interest as the fountain spring that provided for indigenous people for millennia before attracting the Spanish to found the City of San Antonio 300 years ago. The installation is hosted in the University of the Incarnate Word art galleries. To enhance the exhibit, piano concerts, a film series, a lecture, and poetry readings will take place across the month.
