It takes a city with San Antonio’s past to become a city with San Antonio’s future. It takes leaders like you to make visions a reality.
San Antonio’s Tricentennial calls for your support and leadership. We invite you to join the Commission as a sponsor. Your participation demonstrates your pride in San Antonio’s past and your commitment to its future.
San Antonio will celebrate its 300th anniversary in 2018. The San Antonio Tricentennial Celebration is a once in a lifetime endeavor that will be commemorated over the course of a 12 month calendar in 2018. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor please contact Beth Keough at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The Tricentennial Commission is seeking to be as inclusive as possible in marking the 300th anniversary of the founding of San Antonio.
The Tricentennial Commission has centered itself on 4 (four) marquee initiatives chosen to highlight the past, present, and future of San Antonio, our community, and our vibrant culture. Join us in celebrating, and serving the community that makes San Antonio a worldwide destination and national treasure.
Commemorative Week includes a city wide kick-off ceremony, interfaith services, a citywide history fair, a citywide light up, a Founder’s Ball, a fireworks display at Mission Reach, a birthday extravaganza, the San Pedro Creek unveiling, and a celebration of our military community.
This initiative will enrich the city’s beautiful landscape, and access to public art. The culture in San Antonio is vibrant; this initiative will allow us to showcase our culture to the world. The initiative will feature unveilings of public art pieces, specialized arts education, celebratory performing arts pieces (theatre, dance, and music) and continuous events and exposure of the thriving arts community here in San Antonio. This will include a downtown installation and performances across San Antonio.
The San Antonio History and Education initiative will serve a major component of the Tricentennial Commission. The component will highlight the rich and exciting history of San Antonio. Activities will include feature exhibitions, a mobile history unit, a commemorative book, the development and distribution of education curriculum for Pre-K – 12, symposiums, historical walking and cycle tours, and thrilling reenactments in historic locales.
This project will be designed to make a direct impact and positively affect the quality of life in our neighborhoods. Most importantly, it will give everyone in our community the opportunity to participate in the Tricentennial and contribute toward improving our city.
